BIOGRAPHY

Like most great things, the history of MOJ RAKETY began very simply: at the end of the 90's, school friends Alexej Goncharov and Sergey Govorun (aka Serzh) decided to start a band named DOGZ.  Soon they met Kostya Chalykh, who had already been playing in 7 RASA by that time and he joined the band to play guitar. The band was presented at "Uchites Plavat-4" collection, but soon ceased to exist. In 2001 the trio reincarnated in a new indie-formation – MOJ RAKETY VVERH (translation: My Rockets Up). Not long after that, Denis Scopin(ex- "Team Ocean" and "Nebo zdes") joined the band.

In 2004 the quartet recorded its self-titled debut album at Dobrolet studios in Saint-Petersburg, under professional guidance of Andrei Alyakrisnky and with participation of Sergei Egorov ("Marsheider Kunst"). The album was released by the independent label Indie-Go!. Right after the first album was released, Scopin left the band. The debut album did not go unnoticed. 14'52” and Believe were picked up by independent FM and internet radio stations across Europe and in the USA. Tracks Believe and Make it were released on collections produced by magazines "PLAY" (14, 2004) and "FUZZbox" (18, 2004) and 14'52” by "Avant fest 2005". Two songs Isla de Encanta and Autumn Square-Wear were used on the soundtrack of the film "Manga" by Petr Khazizov.

In the spring of 2005 the debut album of MOJ RAKETY VVERH was released in The Netherlands through Inca Records, followed by an Australian release through Smashed Records. The band decided it was time to change their name into MOJ RAKETY, which is more internationally pronounceable. With this name the band played at the Dutch Zwarte Cross Festival, followed by a performance with British band HOOD at Avant Fest 2005 in Moscow and St. Petersburg and Staryi Melnik festival in Kishinev.

Having true artist blood running through their veins, the band members of MOJ RAKETY never stop developing and always aspire to new goals. On September 1st 2005 MOJ RAKETY released a limited edition of their EP "Nightmaremars" . Each of the 200 copies were designed individually and signed and numbered by hand.

In February 2006 MOJ RAKETY released their second album Nuclear Weapon Mushroom Potato Chips through FeeLee Records. Guest appearances of Oleg Emirov (sound producer of NTV Channel and ex-KOLIBRI), Roman Parygin (SPITFIRE / LENINGRAD), Sergei Egorov (MARKSCHEIDER KUNST) are to be heard on this new album.

Just like their handmade EP’s, none of MOJ RAKETY’s shows are the same. For the album presentation MOJ RAKETY invited painter and designer Misha Artemov, to take care of the visuals by drawing pictures on a laptop and projecting them in real time on a big screen. To promote Nuclear Weapon Mushroom Potato Chips the band toured around Russia, Ukraine, Estonia and Holland.

MOJ RAKETY played many festivals, such as the international Gauloises Avant Fest and the Estonian Plink Plonk 2007, made TV appearances and performed with many great bands, noteably opening for SONIC YOUTH at B1 Maximum in Moscow in June 2007.

Last November, MOJ RAKETY released their third studio album Humanaut in Russia, planning a European release in spring 2008.
